Anchor Is A Social Network For Work

Posted Jun 27, 2013

Anchor is a social network that works on iOS and on the web.  Anchor is aimed at being a social network for work, also known for being called “Facebook for the workplace.”  The app launched today itself.  Anchor is expected to help co-workers connect more with each other to share content and ideas.

Anchor will allow users to post photos, videos, links, videos, etc.  You can also comment on the activity of your co-workers.  There is a built-in chat feature so that you can communicate with colleagues in real-time.

You can use Anchor to set up subgroups of employees within the company.  Each organization can create as many teams in Anchor as they want.  An example that can be used is the happy hour committee or the finance group.

Tomfoolery, the company that developed Anchor, has plans to create other apps that will complement this app.  Anchor will remain free until September 25th.  Anyone that signs up using their work e-mail address before that date will get a free life-time account.

Tomfoolery is going to build an Android and Google Glass app in the near future.
