Electronic Arts (EA) has named Andrew Wilson as the CEO of the company. Wilson is the former executive vice president of EA Sports. Wilson has been working at the company for 13 years and oversaw EA’s online portal Origin along with leading popular sports franchises like Madden and FIFA.
John Riccitiello, the former CEO of EA, said that he was stepping down back in March. From that point, EA Chairman Larry Probst led the company in the interim while the company searched for the new CEO.
“When I think about our vision for the future, we have a very strong strategy around the ongoing development of the most amazing teams in the world,” stated Wilson in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “We have a tremendous pipeline of intellectual property, both current and new intellectual property, and we have been making investments in our digital platform.”
