At the I/O conference today, Google announced that Android has hit 400 million device activations. This is up from 100 million that the company announced last year around the same time. This means that 12 new Android devices are being activated per second state Android product management director Hugo Barra. Apple sold 365 million devices, which means that Android has a larger market share. Barra mentioned that Android’s growth in developing countries like Brazil and India has been rapid.
