AnyClip Wants To Help You Find Specific Scenes In Movies

Posted Sep 22, 2009

The problem with searching for videos on YouTube and Hulu is that they heavily depend on the tags associated with them. AnyClip is a startup that is building a solution to this problem. They are building a searchable database of movies that is connected to data available on the web.

The data available on the web includes actresses and actors along with plots of the movies. AnyClip even has people around the world contributing meta tags for the movies in the AnyClip database. Each film already has about 500+ tags.

AnyClip announced their public API for developers to use to query the database at the TechCrunch50 conference. AnyClip has 20 employees and is based in New York City, NY. AnyClip was co-founded by Aaron Cohen, Nate Westheimer, Michael P. Schulhof, and Erel N. Margalit.
