AOL has reported better-than-expected revenue for fourth quarter. The company reported a 13% increase in revenue for the quarter to $679 million compared to $599.5 million from the same period last year.
This increase in revenue was driven by higher ad sales. AOL’s ad revenue rose 23% to $507 million. AOL saw an increase of premium ad spots including video ads through their programmatic ad platform.
AOL acquired a company called Adap.tv for $405 million last year. AOL also spun off Patch.com, which should lead to an increase in profits for the next few quarters.
