Later this month, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will be revealing several new devices. There are reports circulating that Apple is going to announce a new line of 12-inch Retina Display MacBooks next year. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared this information in a research note sent to 9to5Mac.
The new MacBook will be released in the second or third quarter of 2014. The new MacBook will have an entirely new design and it will not be called either a MacBook Pro or a MacBook Air, according to the report. This 12-inch Retina Display MacBook will likely will be a new laptop category for Apple.
Kuo’s report also says that Apple may launch a lower-cost iMac around the same time that the new MacBook is released.
The report points out that Apple will release a sixth-generation 9.7-inch iPad with 30-40% higher pixels-per-inch (PPI) than the current generation iPad next year.
Kuo is considered a reliable source when it comes to predictions about Apple products, but nothing is guaranteed here.
