Apple Fails To Stop Samsung From Selling Galaxy In The U.S.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is unable to persuade a U.S. judge to block Samsung Electronics from selling Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Judge Lucy Koh said in a ruling that Samsung can continue selling their devices in the U.S. despite Apple’s request for a preliminary injunction against Samsung.

Apple and Samsung are suing each other through 20 cases in 10 countries. While all this is happening, Apple is also one of Samsung’s biggest customers for screens used on the iPhone and iPad.

On Friday an Australian court extended a halt on sales of the Samsung Galaxy tablet. Apple sued Samsung in the U.S. this past April.

“It is not clear that an injunction on Samsung’s accused devices would prevent Apple from being irreparably harmed,” stated Koh. Apple could still win in an overall lawsuit.
