Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has filed a lawsuit against several fake Apple-related retail stores. The legal action from Apple is taking place shortly after several fake Apple retail stores in China opened up. The fake Apple retail stores in China literally have employees that dress in the required blue shirts with the logo imprinted on them.

Apple filed the trademark lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District Court of New York. The details are under a court seal so all of the defendants are unknown. One of the defendants is Apple Story Inc. (pictured above). This retail store is located in the Flushing neighborhood in Queens, New York.

Currently it is unknown whether Apple’s lawsuit is targeting overseas retail stores. Apple may not know who is running those stores as of right now. The defendants in this case is currently labeled as “John Doe” since the details are sealed for now. The fake Apple retail stores in China may be run by one of those “John Doe” individuals.
