Ars Technica has pointed out another App Store hacker by the company name WiiShii Network. The developer behind the company hacked into iTunes and made several customers buy his application. This move the apps up the App Store sales rankings.
Ars Technica reader Harper Reed said that his account was used to buy 34 of WiiShii Network’s apps without permission, charging his credit card $168.89. WiiShii’s applications consisted mainly of travel guides.
After I read the article on Ars Technica, I did a quick search on iTunes to see if Apple still had the apps on the App Store and they were gone. Apple usually bans and fraudulent developers shortly after they have gotten some media attention for unfair practices.
