Apple has hired the CEO of Yves Saint Laurent, Paul Deneve, to work as a vice president of “special projects.” Deneve will report directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook. It is unique for someone that is highly involved in the fashion design market to switch into the high tech industry.
Ever since 1997, Deneve has been known for having executive positions at luxury companies like Nina Ricci, Lanvin, and Courreges. Deneve went to Solvay Business School at VUB, received an MBA from the University of Chicago, and an MSc in Stanford University. He also worked under sales and marketing positions within Apple Europe from 1990 until 1997.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Paul Deneve to Apple,” stated Apple in a note to Bloomberg. “He’ll be working on special projects as a vice president reporting directly to Tim Cook.”
