Apple Inc. (AAPL): Beats reboots Solo Line with the Solo2

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) officially acquired Beats Electronics for $3 billion yesterday. Today, Beats has announced a new pair of headphones called the Solo2. The Solo2 replaces the original Beats Solo headphones, which has been Beats’ best seller since debuting in 2008. The Solo2 has a completely new design, but the price is still $200.

Beats said that it sold four Solos every minute last year. The new design does not have any visible screws and has higher quality materials to give the headphones a premium feel. The acoustics have been improved as well.

The ear cups on the new headphones sit at an angle that is more comfortable for the ears. It can also block out more background noise.

You can pre-order the Solo2 now and it will be available in stores on June 1st. It is available in six colors: pink, red, white, blue, black and grey. The price of the original Solo headphones have been dropped down to $170 at retail stores. Or you can buy the original Solo headphones from for around $140.
