At a presentation that was closed to the public yesterday at WWDC, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) said that it is pushing gaming “very strongly.” Apple also announced a new feature is coming soon that is called controller forwarding. Controller forwarding expands on the made-for-iPhone/iPad game controllers that Apple launched along with iOS 7 last year. This feature will make it possible for MFi controllers that snap onto iPhones to work as a controller for games on iPads and Macs.
During the event, Apple also highlighted some stats on gaming. Apple said that it now has “thousands” of games with support and it has also launched in-store demos with the controllers at retail stores.
Apple Game Center also has hit around 130 million monthly active users last month.
