Apple Inc. (AAPL) is increasing discounts for loyalty program

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) offers a small percentage discount for people that buy products in bulk. The program offers discounts to customers that spend over $5,000 in a 12-month period. The discount has slightly increased, according to a report from TechCrunch.

The discount program is in the following tiers:
– Red tier ? Customers who spend more than $5,000 per year
– Green tier ? Customers who spend more than $35,000 per year
– Blue tier ? Customers who spend more than $200,000 per year

All of these discounts have been improved a couple percentage points. The discounts for Macs have been increased from 5-6% in the red tier and as high as 8% in the blue tier. The third-party accessory discounts have increased from 5-10% on the low tier and is higher on the upper tiers. It excludes brands like Jawbone and Beats though.

Apple added unlocked iPhones to the program for the first time as well. iPads are still discounted by 2-4% depending on the quantity and model. Apple TV has also been added to the discount program. These discount programs especially benefit companies and educational institutions.
