Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is signing up new ad agencies to take on companies like Samsung and Microsoft. According to AdAge, Apple is signing four new agencies. The new agencies would be focusing on “user experience” and “digital strategy.” Samsung is spending a lot of money on TV and Internet ads to fight Apple for market share and Apple is ready to aggressively retaliate.
“I can’t help but think ‘these guys are feeling it'”, stated Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller in an e-mail sent to an ad agency. “While we struggle to nail a compelling brief on iPhone… Something drastic has to change. Fast.”
One of Samsung’s most recent publicity stunts was Ellen’s selfie taken at the Oscars. The photo, taken from a Samsung device, is estimated to be worth between $800 million and $1 billion in terms of marketing power, according to a report.
