Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has hired the photography chief of the Nokia Lumia division, Ari Partinen. Partinen said on Twitter that he will be “starting a new chapter in Cupertino” this June.
On Partinen’s LinkedIn profile, he said that his responsibilities at Nokia included “working with image quality characterization and tuning on camera module level.” He also handled camera component production and quality control. The devices he worked on include the Nokia 808 PureView and the Nokia N8, which were positively reviewed for its high quality imagery.
Apple needs to improve the camera on the iPhone. In my own experiences with the iPhone, it does not seem to handle low-lit rooms. I took a few photos at a wedding reception and the photos without the flash were too dark and the photos with the flash on were too blurry.
Today will be my last day working for the amazing #Lumia family. In June I will start a new chapter in Cupertino, California. Much love!
