Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to make a major OS X announcement next month at the WWDC annual developer conference. Generally WWDC is used for making major iOS announcements, but it is possible that OS X may get a lot of attention this time around. It is expected that OS X 10.10 will see a big see a big refresh this year. According to Mark Gurman at 9to5Mac, Apple will be getting its most comprehensive redesign since launching OS X over a decade ago.
The new design will take ideas from the major iOS redesign from last year. However, the new design will not change the fundamentals of OS X. OS X 10.10 will have sharper corners, more white space, and iOS 7 like toggles. Apple is reassuring users that the two operating systems will remain distinct.
iOS 8 is rumored to have new apps like like Healthbook, TextEdit, and Preview. iOS 8 will have changes made to Siri and iCloud.
WWDC is launching a month from now on June 2nd. Stay tuned to Pulse 2.0 for updates on that day.
