Apple Now Offering Movies Via iTunes In The Land Down Under

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced today that movies that are offered in the U.S. on iTunes is now available to residents in New Zealand and Australia.  This includes films from 20th Century Fox, The Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM), Sony Pictures Television International, and Lionsgate.  The iTunes Store in Australia is available at and the iTunes store in New Zealand is available at

?Movie fans in Australia and New Zealand can choose from a great selection of over 700 films for purchase and rent on the iTunes Store,? stated Eddy Cue, Apple VP of Internet Services. ?iTunes provides an incredibly easy and fun way for people to discover and enjoy movies, and has quickly become the world?s most popular online movie store with customers renting and purchasing over 50,000 movies everyday.?

Customers have up to 30 days to watch movies downloaded through iTunes.  iTunes has over 100 movies available in HD.  iTunes movies can be downloaded in Australia for A$9.99 for catalog titles, A$17.99 for recent releases, and A$24.999 for new releases.  These movies can be watched on iPod Classics, Nanos with video, Touches, and iPhones.  The movies can also be watched on widescreen TVs connected to Apple TVs.
