Apple Paid $1.7 Million To A Couple For Their 1-Acre Home In North Carolina

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) paid Donnie and Kathy Fulbright $1.7 million for their 1-acre home in North Carolina. Apple needed the land to build a $1 billion data center in Maiden, North Carolina. The house was valued at $181,700 and the couple originally paid $6,000 for it. The Fulbrights lived in that house for 34 years. The Fulbrights bought a 4,200 square foot house on a 49 acre property with the money Apple paid them. It is unknown what Apple will be using the new data center for, but I would not be surprised if they are going to build cloud-based storage for the new Apple TV and iTunes streaming services.
