An internal document from AppleCare revealed that the company is actively investigating WiFi related issues affecting the third-generation iPad. Many people are complaining that their iPad WiFi connection drops or experiences slow speeds. Some iPads cannot even pick up local WiFi networks. There is a thread discussing the issue on Apple’s online support forums and it has received nearly 700 replies.
Apple has told AppleCare employees to ensure that the devices they test are not having the issues due to normal software bugs. The third-generation iPads are the only devices that are affected by these issues. The 4G LTE models are believed to be safe from this problem because of the extra network power allowed by the black rubber cut on the top of the device.
