Apple Reportedly In Talks To Buy Out PrimeSense For $280 Million

is currently in talks to acquire PrimeSense for $280 million.  PrimeSense is known for developing the technology behind the Microsoft Kinect motion sensor.

Based in Israel, PrimeSense licenses the Kinect hardware design to Microsoft.  Apple has an interest in buying out PrimeSense so that they can further challenge companies like Samsung, Google, and Microsoft in the battle for the living room.  PrimeSense also has significant patents.

The talks are currently in early stages according to Calcalist.
