Apple Rumored To Be Releasing Mac OS X Lion To The Mac App Store

Posted May 4, 2011

There is a rumor floating around that when Mac OS X 10.7 Lion is released this summer, Apple will make it available for download through the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store is available to anyone that uses Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. This means that you would not need a physical disk to upgrade your operating system. It is assumed that Apple will offer an optical disc for those who want to upgrade and don’t have a broadband connection.

Apple is expected to reveal their plans for distributing Lion OS X at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco between June 6 and June 10th. Other specs required for the Mac App Store include an Intel-based Core 2 Duo processor or higher, 1GB of RAM, and 5GB of disk space.
