Apple To Release OS X Mountain Lion This Summer [VIDEO]

Apple has announced OS X Mountain Lion Preview and the first public beta of Messages for the Mac. To explain the new features of OS X Mountain Lion, Apple released a video demonstration. on the Lion Sneak Peek page.

Apple is releasing OS X Mountain Lion less than a year later than Lion. Some of the new features in Mountain Lion includes the addition of Messages to Mac. This allows anyone to send free messages to anyone with an iPhone, iPad, another Mac, or iPod Touch. You can also exchange photos and videos through Messages.

Reminders will sync between Mountain Lion and iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches through iCloud synching. The Notes app on the Mac can also be synched across your iOS devices through iCloud.

Mountain Lion will have the Notification Center feature. There will be notifications for new e-mails, messages, system updates, and third party app notifications. A share button will be added to Safari and apps so that you can send links through Email, Twitter, and Messages. The share button will be tailored towards the apps you are using.

The Game Center feature that is popular on iOS devices will be integrated into the Mac. Game Center is a social gaming platform that allows you to share your scores with other people playing the same games as you.

Mountain Lion will have AirPlay Mirroring. You can wirelessly mirror whatever you are doing on your iPad 2 and iPhone 4S to your HDTV using Apple TV. Mountain Lion will allow you to do this with your Mac. This makes it easier to watch videos and share presentations with a group.
