Apple Upgrades The Processor In The iPad 2

Posted May 4, 2012

After Apple released the third generation iPad, they decided to keep selling the iPad 2 at a lower price of $399. What a lot of people don’t know right now is that if they buy an iPad 2 today, it has a newer processor than the original iPad 2. Apple has also improved the battery life of the iPad 2.

According to several tests, the iPad 2 being sold right now has a new A5 chipset that is thinner, which results in an improved battery life. The newer iPad 2 can get as much as 30% better battery life when playing games.

If you buy an iPad 2 today, it does not guarantee that you will get a better iPad because inventories of the older iPad 2 are still around. There is no way to tell if it is an older model or the new model without taking it out of the box and checking for the newer model number (iPad 2,4).

If you want to ensure that you get the new model, you may want to hold off on buying the iPad 2 for a while.
