This month we reported that the Apple iPad Mini is expected to be available on October 23rd and around 10 million of them have been ordered for Q4. Now we are hearing that Apple will have a strong focus on iBooks. The iPad Mini is expected to be a thinner and cheaper version of the original iPad.
It is likely that Apple will announce a new version of the iBooks application known as iBooks 3. The new version of iBooks is expected to be expanded support for annotations and similar features that the Amazon.com Kindle x-Ray feature has like multi-mode support for audio and text-book syncing. It would be awesome if I could read an iBook that I have purchased on my MacBook. I am hoping for that feature, but am not holding my breath.
