AppZero raises $3 million

Posted Mar 5, 2014

AppZero is a company that is known for migrating enterprise applications. The company has raised $3 million in a round of funding from investors like Joseph Alsop (former CEO and co-founder of Progress Software), Frank Bonsal (founder of New Enterprise Associates), and Matt Ocko (co-founder of Data Collective).

One of the goldmines for the company are the companies that still use Windows Server 2003. Microsoft will be ending support for Windows Server 2003 at the end of July 2015.

AppZero is able to take applications that run on older versions of Windows Server and moves them to Windows 2012 or sometimes Windows Server 2008.

Some of AppZero’s competitors include Racemi, RiverMeadow and Cloud Velocity.
