ASUS recently announced a new tablet based on the Android 4.1 operating system that is one of the cheapest in it’s category. The 7-inch Android tablet is called the ASUS MeMO Pad. The MeMO Pad retails for only $149 and will be available in 3 colors: Sugar White, Titanium Gray, and Cherry Pink. All 3 colors will have the same non-slip diamond-pattern finish that is on the back of the tablet. Other specs include a 1GHz VIA WM8950 CPU and a Mali-400 GPU. The MeMO Pad supports 10 points of touch and is LED backlit. The resolution of the MeMO Pad is 1024 x 600 with 140-degree viewing angles.
The display has a 350-nit brightness to make it easy to use in direct sunlight. The tablet can be purchased in either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB of additional storage. The MeMO Pad has a one-megapixel front camera with a back-illuminated sensor to record 720p HD resolution video. The MeMO Pad has integrated WiFi, a microphone, and a 3.5mm headphone input. The internal battery works at 7 hours of use per charge.
