AT&T is planning to launch a home monitoring service to 8 markets in March 2013.  AT&T’s home monitoring service will let you protect and monitor homes using smartphones, tablets, and PCs.  The home monitoring service is called “AT&T Digital Life.”

The AT&T Digital Life service is a wireless-based home security and automation service that works on any wireless carrier or broadband provider.  The AT&T Digital Life package will come with cameras, windows, smoke sensors, motion sensors, thermostats, water shut-off, lighting controls, appliance controls, moisture detection, and door sensors.

AT&T’s workforce will be able to provide 24/7 support so that they can respond to emergencies.  With the app, users can customize a security and automation package based on their needs.  When the service launches in March, they will expand it to 50 additional markets this year.  Pricing is not yet known, but it will most likely be tiered.

?AT&T Digital Life is a game-changing wireless centric home security and automation experience with its unique integration and an intuitive app to control every feature from your smartphone, tablet or PC,? stated AT&T Digital Life SVP Kevin Petersen.  ?Combined with AT&T?s wireless network and unparalleled distribution channels, Digital Life will offer exciting new innovation. We can?t wait to get it into the hands of our customers.?
