AT&T is going to release a family data plan soon. AT&T Mobile CEO Ralph de la Vega said that the upcoming shared plan would allow consumers to buy one package of data to split amongst multiple devices. This could encourage additional tablet sales. ?I?m very comfortable with the plan that will be offered to our customers,? stated de la Vega in an interview with CNET.
This data plan is contrary to what de la Vega believed in a few months ago. He doubted in family plans due to IT, billing, and device subsidization. Ralph de la Vega refused to give any additional details.
AT&T was one of the first companies to introduce new ways of splitting data plans. They released a tiered data plan and started to cap data usage. Who will introduce family data plans now? Verizon or AT&T?
