AT&T (T) is launching HD voice this year, announces Padfone X

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) head of mobility Ralph de la Vega has announced that the company will be launching HD voice later this year. Ralph de la Vega made the announcement at the developer press conference. Ralph de la Vega also announced a new Asus smartphone called the Padfone X, which will be the first smartphone to access the AT&T LTE Advanced network along with HD voice.

AT&T is the third mobile carrier to offer HD voice after Sprint. T-Mobile announced HD voice last year at CES 2013.

The Padfone X has a 5-inch 1080p display and has a black body with silver metal highlights. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and has stereo speakers.
