AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has launched their second Foundry. This Foundry has been opened up in Plano, Texas. This Foundry is all about developing products and services that improve life using connected devices and machine-to-machine technologies.
One of the ideas developed at a Foundry location was making wirelessly trackable suitcases and outdoor sensors for performing soil tests. The goal of the Foundry is to develop these ideas into prototypes.

This new AT&T Foundry facility has the capability to rapidly prototype hardware and develop the sophisticated software needed in the growing M2M and connected device space,? stated AT&T Technology and Network Operations executive vice president John Donovan.
The new Foundry has a Faraday cage testing room, a 3D printer, and other tools for building prototypes. AT&T has 15.2 million connected devices in the market, which has doubled from the first 6 months of last year.
