AT&T Activated 4.7 Million iPhones and Sold A Record Number Of Androids and Windows Phones

AT&T has reported their Q3 2012 earnings.  AT&T reported 4.7 million iPhone activations.  AT&T sold a total of 6.1 million phones for the quarter, while Verizon sold 6.8 million smartphones last quarter.  However AT&T said that they had a record sales quarter for Android and Windows Phone devices.  AT&T added 678,000 customers in Q3, which is more than double what they did in Q2.

Now AT&T has a total of 105.9 million subscribers, which is up from 100.7 million one year ago.  AT&T reported $3.6 billion in profit for the quarter, which is flat year-over-year.  AT&T said that their LTE network now reaches over 135 million U.S. residents and the 4G network covers over 285 million residents.
