AT&T has announced their Q4 2012 earnings this week. The company reported revenues of $32.6 billion, which is an increase of 0.2% year-over-year and an EPS of $0.44. AT&T sold 10.2 million smartphones and they activated 8.6 million Apple iPhones. Wall Street was predicting an earnings per share of $0.46 with revenues of $32.2 billion in revenue for the quarter.
AT&T has 107 million postpaid subscribers, which is a net increase of 1.1 million from the previous quarter. AT&T’s smartphone sales were the highest for the company ever recorded for a quarter. Before the earnings report, AT&T announced that they crossed the 10 million smartphones sold for the quarter, including iPhones and Androids.
AT&T’s wireline revenues were $14.9 billion, which is down slightly year-over-year. Operating income for the wireline lifted to around $1.8 billion. Around 192,000 subscribers signed up for AT&T’s U-verse TV service and the company’s U-verse High Speed Internet picked up around 609,000 new subscribers to a total of 7.7 million. Revenue from residential customers are up 3% from the quarter one year ago.
