MadeiraCloud is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) visualization startup that makes it possible to group your resources and manage them into a single unit, either an “App” or a “Stack.” MadeiraCloud has raised $1.5 million in a first round of funding from Sequoia Capital.
MadeiraCloud plans to use the funding for hiring more development and sales employees. The company is also setting up a marketing office in San Francisco. MadeiraCloud is going to add full support for AWS’ Virtual Private Cloud.
MadeiraCloud makes it easier to organize cloud applications using an intuitive drag-and-drop tool for designing, provisioning, and managing application stacks inside of AWS. MadeiraCloud serves customers from small startups to large enterprises since the company launched in public beta back in June 2012.
MadeiraCloud is overseeing the management of over $25 million worth of AWS resources. MadeiraCloud was founded by Peng Zhao (CTO) and Daniel O’Prey (CEO).
?People are sold on the cloud but overwhelmed by the sheer number of services, the many new terms and acronyms, and the resources and expertise required to get going with AWS,? stated O?Prey in a statement. ?By providing a simple, familiar, self-service interface we?re saving them significant time and money and enabling organizations of all sizes to make the transition smoothly.?
