This past week, Belkin announced the Linksys EA6900 WiFi router at the IFA conference in Berlin. This is the first Linksys-branded product that Belkin launched since acquiring the brand from Cisco Systems.
The EA 6900 is a concurrent, dual-band, 3×3 router. This means that two separate networks at the same time. One of the networks is based on the new IEEE 802.11ac standard and the second one is based on the older IEEE 802.11n standard. It can offers three transmit and three receive spatial streams to support physical data rates of 1.3Gbps (802.11ac) and 600mbps (802.11n).
The EA6900 has an 800MHz dual-core processor and supports beam-forming technology to get the best connection. The EA6900 has a four-port gigabit switch, one USB 3.0 port, and one USB 2.0 port.
The price of the EA6900 will cost $250 and is arriving in October. Currently Belkin is offering a $20 discount for pre-orders.
