BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has announced a couple of new smartphones: the Z3 and the Q20. The Z3 was sourced from BlackBerry’s strategic partner, Foxconn.
The Z3 is a touchscreen smartphone that has rounded sides. It also has a 5-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB RAM, and 8GB of storage. The Z3 will be powered by BlackBerry OS 10.2.1. The Z3 has a 5.5 megapixel rear camera and 1.1 megapixel front camera. It also has an internal FM radio. The Z3 is launching in Indonesia first and it will cost $200 off contract.
The BlackBerry Q20 is a hardware QWERTY smartphone like its predecessor Q10. The Q20 has a 3.5-inch touchscreen, which is larger than the Q10’s 3.1-inch display. The Q20 has new hardware Menu, Back, Send, and End buttons. It also has an integrated trackpad. The Q20 also has a larger battery and will be shipping in the second half of the year.
