Bob Mansfield Takes A Step Back From Exec Role At Apple (AAPL)

Posted Jul 29, 2013

Bob Mansfield was the former Senior Vice President of Technologies at Apple Inc.  It was almost a year ago that Mansfield accepted a two-year incentive package to stay as the head of the hardware and semiconductor engineering division at the company.  Mansfield’s bio has been removed from the Apple executive leadership website.

Mansfield will now be working on “special projects” for Apple CEO Tim Cook.  Around the same time that Mansfield departed from the company, Jony Ive was promoted and Scott Forstall departed.  Mansfield reportedly is receiving about $2 million per month to avoid retiring.

Right now, it is unknown who will be replacing Mansfield.
