Brandon Fiquett put together a simple Siri hack that allowed him to control his vehicle with his voice. Fiquett uploaded the results to YouTube. Using the Viper Control plugin and Siri Proxy, Fiquett used the Apple voice-activated technology to connect to a Cobra remote starter. The video shows Fiquett starting and stopping the ignition of his Acura TL car by speaking the commands into the iPhone using the Siri app.
The command is sent from Siri to a Viper service and then relayed through a cellular connection to the car. The car broadcasts an update through radio frequency to the key change remote. The hack can also be used for opening the trunk and locking/unlocking.
