Break Media and Alloy Digital are going to merge. The two companies are known for producing and aggregating viral video content. There has been a consolidation of video companies lately. Maker Studios acquired video company called Blip. Last year, Alloy Digital acquired DBG.
Break Media and Alloy Digital both produce short video clips tailored for younger audiences. These two companies will be rebranded as Defy Media. Break and Alloy will each hold 50% in the new venture.
Matt Diamond of Alloy Digital will be the CEO of the combined company and Break Media’s Keith Richman will become the president. Defy Media will hit a combined reach of 30 million YouTube subscribers and will see 50 million monthly visitors.
