Billionaire investor Carl Icahn has filed a lawsuit against Dell and the company’s board of directors as part of an effort to block Michael Dell’s offer to take the company private. Dell’s board of directors decided against Michael Dell’s $26.6 billion buyout offer, but Carl Icahn wants to prevent further delays in the shareholder special meeting that was proposed by the board, according to TheNextWeb.
The meeting was supposed to take place on July 18th, but it was pushed back. Carl Icahn also challenged the voting rights on shares of the company that Michael Dell has been acquiring since February.
Icahn wrote an open letter earlier this week that ask the board to ?let the desperate Dell debacle die.? He wants to hold a meeting tomorrow for a decision.
