Based in San Francisco, Chairish is an online consignment marketplace for people that are obsessed with design and want to buy/sell pre-owned home furnishings.  The company launched in February and has recently raised a $3.2 million seed round of funding from Azure Capital Partners and O?Reilly AlphaTech Ventures to accelerate growth and expand their marketplace.

Chairish’s founding team includes entrepreneurs and senior executives that have worked at TripIt, Yahoo!, Expedia, eBay, Hotwire, and Levi Strauss.  The founders are Gregg Brockway, Anna Brockway, Eric Grosse, Andy Denmark, and Nancy Ramamurthi.

?We started Chairish with the simple belief that selling and buying quality pre-owned furniture and décor should be easy and fun. We?re creating a dramatically better experience for sellers, which in turn makes Chairish an attractive destination for savvy buyers looking to make their homes more beautiful at a fraction of the cost of buying new. This capital will help us create an even more delightful experience, expand seller services and reach more design-loving consumers nationwide,? stated Chairish co-founder and president Eric Grosse.

Chairish sells seating, lighting, decor, cabinetry, table, and bed products.  Owners can use the website as a safe and hassle-free way to sell their home furnishings to a broad online audience while converting their furniture into cash rather than giving it away or collect dust in your basement.
