About 6.5 million encrypted LinkedIn passwords are reported to have been hacked and uploaded to a Russian hacker website. I would highly recommend going to your settings page and changing your password now. Otherwise hackers could have access to your data along with your passwords. Of those 6.5 million encrypted passwords, over 300,000 passwords have been decrypted already. The LinkedIn team is continuing to investigate the hack, but as of one hour ago, they cannot confirm that a security breach has occurred. LinkedIn currently has over 150 million users.
Our team continues to investigate, but at this time, we’re still unable to confirm that any security breach has occurred. Stay tuned here.
