HTC Corp (TPE:2498) chief executive officer Peter Chou has assigned several duties to the company chairman so that he can focus on innovation and product development after the HTC One failed to penetrate a larger smartphone marketshare, according to the Financial Times.
HTC chairwoman and company co-founder Cher Wang will step up work in sales, marketing, and supplier relationships. H.T. Chou, another co-founder of HTC, has returned to the company to focus on phone projects as well. HTC posted their first quarterly loss this month due to competition with Samsung and Apple.
Going forward, Wang will be working six days a week, instead of two. This management shift is temporary.
