New Google Chrome Feature Tells You When Your Tab Makes Noise

Posted Nov 12, 2013

If you have a tendency to open a bunch of tabs on Google Chrome, odds are that at least one of them will have some sort of audio or video clip that automatically starts playing.  It can be frustrating to figure out which of those tabs you want to mute.  Now Google is releasing a new feature on the Chrome browser that shows a small icon of the tab that is playing the audio.  Google also added different icons for a tab that is playing audio, an icon that is using your webcam, and an icon that indicates a tab is casting to your TV.  You may have noticed a similar feature when playing a YouTube video on Chrome.  This feature is already available on the Chrome 32 beta release.
