Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) chief technology officer Padmasree Warrior has joined the board of directors at Box, a popular cloud storage company. Warrior used to be executive vice president and chief technology officer at Motorola.
“I’ve gotten to know Padma over the past two years, and I’ve continued to lean on her expertise when it comes to building out large technology operations, establishing new routes to market, and competing in dynamic markets,” said Box cofounder and chief executive Aaron Levie in a company blog post. “We want to help customers do much more with their information on Box and beyond, unlocking entirely new capabilities that will change the way individuals, businesses, and even entire industries operate.”
Box filed to go public confidentially, according to several reports.
Warrior is the second female board of director at Box after Dana Evan. Evan is also a board member at Fusion-io and Proofpoint. She was the founding chief financial offer at VeriSign. Other board members that joined Box’s board of directors includes the first CTO of the United States government Aneesh Chopra and former Allscripts Healthcare Solutions CEO Glen Tullman.
