Cirtas Systems is a cloud company that just got out of stealth mode and they emerged with $10 million in funding. The $10 million is in the form of an oversubscribed Series A round from Amazon.com, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and New Enterprise Associates.

Citras’ sells an appliance that is the size of an encyclopedia. The appliance bridges a company’s storage area network with a cloud-based storage system. ?We make it appear seamless, like the data is stored locally,? stated Citras VP of Marketing Josh Goldstein in an interview with PEHub.

Citras’ Bluejet Cloud Storage Controllers are aimed at SMB companies with a price of about $70,000 per appliance. Citras’ existing partners include Amazon.com and Iron Mountain.
