CloudFlare is a website security and content delivery service that has acquired an anti-malware company called StopTheHacker. CloudFlare founder and CEO Matthew Prince said that CloudFlare faces the challenge of preventing malware distribution.
?While CloudFlare is good at stopping new infections,? stated Prince, ?we needed a way to ensure that sites weren?t already infected when they first signed up.?
StopTheHacker raised Series A funding from Runa Capital and former Bluecoat CEO Brian NeSmith in 2012. StopTheHacker launched in 2008 and their services have been available in the CloudFlare Apps Marketplace for the last two years. CloudFlare’s prices start at $96 per year.
?We will continue to operate the StopTheHacker service and invest in its continued innovation,? Prince writes. He expects the integration between the two services will allow the company to ? provide immediate remediation of malware and vulnerabilities in ways that were not previously possible,? said StopTheHacker. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.
