Clustrix Raises $16.5 Million In Series C Funding

Clustrix is a NewSQL database company that has raised $16.5 million in a Series C round of funding.  The company has raised a total of $46.5 million in funding thus far.  This round of funding was provided by existing investors Sequoia Capital, U.S. Venture Partners, and ATA Ventures.

Clustrix plans on using the funding to build out the distribution on public and private cloud environments.  The company plans on setting up production environment distribution for developers.  Clustrix put version 5.0 of their proprietary database software on Amazon Web Services.  Version 5.0 is already available on Rackspace, Equinix, GoGrid, and BlueBoxGroup.

Clustrix has over 30 customers worldwide including AOL, MakeMyTrip, MedExpert, AdScience, and Rakuten.  These companies use Clustrix to scale-out their SQL databases.  Clustrix’s nodes are in production in web-scale applications around the globe, hitting over one trillion transactions per month.
