Commtouch Acquires eleven With Plans To Launch A Security-As-A-Service Solution

Commtouch is an Internet security technology and cloud-based services company.  Commtouch has acquired eleven GmbH, a Berlin, Germany, based company that is a provider of a mail-based Security-as-a-Service (SecaaS) solutions company.  eleven has over 36% of the German market for managed e-mail security.

On top of offering e-mail security, eleven also has archiving solutions, on-premise e-mail solutions, and services to certain customers.  eleven customers include BMW, SAP, Siemens, and T-Mobile.  Commtouch will now be able to deliver private label cloud-based security solutions designed for OEMs.

Commtouch is focusing on their primary OEM business and private labeling cloud based Security-as-a-Service solutions.  Commtouch will continue expanding eleven’s brand in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.  The eleven brand will be retained in the DACH area and eleven’s 60 employees will join Commtouch.  eleven CEO and founder Robert Rothe will become Commtouch’s CTO and head of Commtouch’s operations in Germany.
