COMS Interactive is a health care software-as-a-service company that has raised $21 million in a new round of funding.  COMS’ flagship product is called Daylight IQ.  Daylight IQ is the first healthcare delivery system that is based upon disease management, clinical outcomes measurement, and performance improved based on long term care residents.

According to VentureBeat, COMS’ software can track the changes in a person’s conditions and alert doctors.  This make it possible for patients to avoid going to a doctor multiple times before finding out what is actually wrong.

Summit Partners led this round of funding.  Mark deLaar of Summit Partners will be joining the COMS board of directors as a result of the funding.  COMS Interactive has raised a total of $23.7 million in funding from Summit Partners, Zapis Capital Group, Next Sparc LLC, and Portal Capital LLC.  The company plans on using the funding for expansion, product development, and redemption of COMS common stock holdings.
