According to ComScore, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) are dominating the mobile space. ComScore released data from its Mobilens and Mobile Metrix. It reports important trends in the U.S. smartphone industry for January 2014. Apple is leading as the number 1 smartphone manufacturing with iPhones capturing 41.6% of the U.S. market. Samsung is in second place with 26.7% of the U.S. market.
Apple was not able to compete with Android in terms of operating market share. Android led the operating system market with a 51.7% share and iOS had a 41.6% share. Windows Phone was at 3.2% and BlackBerry was at 3.1%.
ComScore also reported the top destinations for mobile browsers. Google websites were visited by almost 90% of American mobile users and Facebook was at second place with 87%. Yahoo! and Amazon were at 86.2% and 69%, respectively.
Mobile Metrix and Mobilens are tools used for audience measurement and online survey analysis.
